Description

The battle station's defences

The Death Star is known for its planet-destroying superlaser, but in A New Hope its surface is also covered with gun turrets. When the Rebel fleet attacks at the Battle of Yavin, those cannons fill the sky with fire as X-wings and Y-wings swoop down into the trench. A single emplacement makes a compact slice of the station that works both as a standalone model and as scenery for starfighters you already own.

Busy grey, bright red

Light bluish grey and dark bluish grey set the tone, with black adding depth, exactly the palette you would expect from Imperial architecture. Trans-red provides the glowing accents associated with laser fire. What stands out is the variety: 70 unique elements across 159 pieces is a high proportion, so the build keeps changing rather than repeating the same steps.
