What can I build?

Only official sets are compared, using the latest inventory of each set without spare parts. Alternative models of your own sets are not in our data yet.
How “What can I build?” works
Add the sets you own by set number or name, or bring in every set from your collection in one click. We pool the pieces of all those sets and compare the pool with the parts lists of every official set. The result is a list of sets you can build completely or almost completely.
How strict is colour?
With “Allow colour substitutes” switched on, a piece counts whatever its colour: a red 2 × 4 brick can stand in for a blue one. You’ll find far more sets that way, though they’ll end up more colourful than on the box. Switch substitutes off and both part and colour have to match exactly.
When does a set count as buildable?
The “Show sets from” slider sets the share of pieces you need to have, anywhere from 50 to 100 per cent. Results can be sorted by how buildable they are, by fewest missing pieces or by size. For each match you can expand the missing pieces and download them as BrickLink XML.
An example
Say you add a big castle and two small town sets. With colour substitutes on, sets from completely different themes show up too, because their basic shapes are already in your pool. If a set is only a few pieces short, the list shows exactly which ones, with colour and quantity. Without substitutes the list gets shorter, but the result looks like the original.
Bags, books, key chains and promotional sets are left out, as you can’t rebuild them or can’t get hold of them.

Do I need an account?
No. Your browser remembers the sets you add. If you’re signed in, your collection is also kept in your account and you can bring it in here with one click.
How many sets can I add?
Up to 500. When you bring sets in from your collection, sets you own twice count twice.
Are spare parts included?
No. We use the latest parts list of each set, without the spare pieces that come in the box.
Why is a set missing that I could actually build?
We show the best 60 matches at most. Alternate models you can build from your own sets aren’t in our data yet.
