Description

An unusual design

Most Star Wars ships look like weapons or workhorses. The Solar Sailer is different, with an elegant, almost antique shape and a large sail that unfurls in flight. It suits its owner, a former Jedi with aristocratic manners who now leads the Separatists. In a shelf of fighters and gunships, it stands out immediately, which is part of its appeal for collectors who want their prequel display to include something that does not follow the usual starfighter formula.

The scene it comes from

After duelling Yoda in the hangar on Geonosis, Dooku boards the Solar Sailer and escapes. The ship is next seen arriving on Coruscant, where he reports to his master, Darth Sidious. That short sequence confirms that a Sith Lord is pulling the strings behind the war and sets up everything that follows in Revenge of the Sith. Four minifigures come with the set, enough to recreate the moment or build a small Separatist scene around it.

Browns and greys

Reddish brown, light bluish grey, dark bluish grey and dark tan are the main colours. The warm tones separate the Solar Sailer from the white and grey Republic fleet and match its refined look. With 94 different part designs across 385 pieces, the set relies on plenty of repeated elements, which makes for a calm build. Those reddish brown and dark tan parts are also valuable for castles, western towns, furniture and landscapes.

Parts list and beyond

The inventory below shows every part in set 7752 with its colour and quantity, so you can check a second-hand copy thoroughly and fill any gaps. If you already own the ship, the What can I build? tool compares your parts with other sets and lists the models you could complete, plus what would still be missing. Because so many of its pieces are earthy colours, it is a good source for builds that have nothing to do with space.
