About Train
Choosing the right sub-theme
The sub-themes follow the way the trains are powered. With 4.5V and RC Train, the batteries travel on board; with 12V and 9V, the power runs through the track itself. Supplemental covers additional sets that support a layout rather than forming a train of their own. If you have inherited an old train and are not sure which system it belongs to, the power source is the first thing to check. Once you have found the set, its parts list shows whether anything is missing, and ‘What can I build?’ compares it with the bricks you already own.
