The theme began in 2008 with a small group of skyscrapers and has since expanded to castles, cathedrals, monuments and modern houses from around the world. The models leave out minifigures and usually sit on a plain base with a nameplate, so the focus stays on shape and proportion. Many people buy them as souvenirs of places they have visited or as a quieter build for an evening at home. With new sets still arriving in 2026, the theme has been running for close to two decades.

The largest landmarks

Notre-Dame de Paris (21061-1) from 2024 is the biggest set, with 4,382 pieces. Tower Bridge (21067-1) from 2026 has 3,745, and Neuschwanstein Castle (21063-1) from 2025 has 3,455. The Robie House (21010-1), a Frank Lloyd Wright design released in 2011, reached 2,276 pieces long before the recent wave of large models. Himeji Castle (21060-1, 2,125 pieces), the Taj Mahal (21056-1, 2,024 pieces), the Trevi Fountain (21062-1, 1,880 pieces) and the Empire State Building (21046-1, 1,767 pieces) complete the list.

Skylines and smaller models

Not every set is a single building. The Skylines sub-theme gathers several landmarks of one city, such as Paris or New York City, into a compact panorama. Alongside the large flagships there are also smaller landmark models that suit a desk or bookshelf. Because Skylines models share the same scale and style, several cities placed side by side make a tidy display of their own.

Learning from the builds

Architecture models rely on plates, tiles and clever part use to capture detail at a small scale. The parts lists are a useful reference if you want to design your own buildings, and they show at a glance how much of a model your collection already covers.
