Building stock, not models

The sets in this theme are defined by what they contain rather than by what they build. Some provide general stock, others focus on a single category of element, and all of them are meant to sit alongside a core classroom set. The theme spans half a century, and the set names show how little the basic needs of a building classroom have changed over that time: more bricks, more wheels, more ways to finish a house. The earliest entry dates from 1976, the most recent from 2026.

Bulk bricks and special elements

The largest set is Bricks (9384-1) from 2010, with 884 pieces. Close behind is the Special Elements Pack (991268-1) from 2009 with 674. Between them they cover the two sides of supplemental stock: plenty of standard bricks for free building, and less common shapes that add detail to a model. Sets like these suit open-ended building, where no single model is the goal and variety matters more than instructions.

Wheels, doors, windows and roofs

Wheels return again and again. Wheels (9269-1) from 1998 and Wheels Set (9241-1) from 2007 each contain 360 pieces, and a later Wheels Set (9387-1) from 2011 has 286. Buildings get similar treatment: Doors and Windows (9274-1) from 1998 has 260 pieces, Doors Windows and Roof Tiles (9243-1) from 2005 has 270, and Doors Windows & Roof Tiles (9386-1) from 2010 has 278.
