Watches tied to play themes

Many watches in this theme follow the play themes of their day. In 2003 there was a Bionicle Tahu Nuva Buildable Watch (4193352-1, 52 pieces) for fans of the biomechanical heroes, and a Spybotics Watch (4193358-1, 49 pieces) linked to the programmable spy robots of the same period. Racers Buildable Watch with Car (9001772-1) from 2011 has 45 pieces and adds a small car. Life on Mars Clock (7400-1, 43 pieces) from 2001 picks up the space theme of the same name. Other entries pick up themes such as Bionicle, Racers or Life on Mars, so children could wear the theme they built at home.

Learning to tell the time

The two largest entries are the Time Teacher [Boy] (9005008-1) with 102 pieces and the Time Teacher [Girl] (9005039-1) with 97, both from 2012. They are designed to help children practise reading a clock face, and because they are built from bricks, the learning starts with the assembly. Two versions were released, labelled Boy and Girl.
