Description

Built for speed

Where the X-wing is an all-rounder and the Y-wing a bomber, the A-wing exists to be fast. It is little more than a cockpit squeezed between two large engines, wrapped in a sharp wedge. In Return of the Jedi, A-wings join the Battle of Endor, and one crashes into the bridge of a Super Star Destroyer, sending the huge ship down. The fighter also features prominently in the animated series Rebels. Its compact shape suits a mini model particularly well.

A brighter palette

White leads the colour list, followed by dark red, black and light bluish grey. Having dark red in second place gives this small model a stronger accent than most Rebel ships, which tend to lean on grey. The 58 pieces come from 28 distinct elements, so roughly half the parts are repeated. There are no minifigures. Completing a mini squadron

If you collect small versions of Rebel fighters, the A-wing fills a gap next to the more common X-wings and Y-wings. The build is short enough for children to finish on their own, and the result fits in the palm of a hand. On a shelf or desk, its low wedge shape makes a pleasing contrast with the longer fighters.
