A podracer is essentially two enormous engines pulling a tiny cockpit behind them on cables. The design is reckless by nature, and the Boonta Eve race on Tatooine shows just how dangerous it is, with crashes and sabotage along the course. In The Phantom Menace, young Anakin Skywalker wins that race and with it the chance to leave the planet. Capturing such an unusual layout in 60 pieces is a nice challenge, and the finished model is recognisable immediately.

Colour beyond the greys

Light bluish grey and dark bluish grey lead the parts list, but yellow and blue come next, giving this mini model more colour than most of its Star Wars neighbours.
