Description

Hunting in the trench

In A New Hope, Vader leads a small group of TIE fighters into the Death Star trench to stop the Rebel attack. His own craft stands out from the standard TIEs flanking him, with bent wings and a larger rear fuselage. He picks off several Rebel pilots and has Luke Skywalker in his sights before Han Solo returns in the Millennium Falcon and sends him spinning away into space. That moment secured the TIE Advanced a lasting place among the best-known ships of the original trilogy, and its bent-wing silhouette survives shrinking very well. Few Imperial ships are as instantly linked to a single character.

Repeating steps for twin wings

Only 25 unique elements make up the 68 pieces, which means many parts are used more than once. That fits a fighter with two matching wings, built to the same pattern on each side. The instructions are therefore easy to follow, and the build is over quickly, which suits children as well as adults looking for a short break.
