The droid with the map

BB-8 belongs to Resistance pilot Poe Dameron. On Jakku, Poe hands the droid a map fragment pointing the way to Luke Skywalker, and BB-8 escapes into the desert while the First Order searches for it. There it meets Rey, and the two are soon swept into the story along with Finn. With its rolling ball body and small domed head, BB-8 quickly became one of the most popular characters of the sequel trilogy and a familiar face well beyond the films.
