Description

Articulation as the core idea

Unlike a rigidly steered vehicle, the 6x6 Volvo's chassis splits into two segments joined by a central pivot that lets them twist against each other. That articulation is what keeps the real hauler manoeuvrable on uneven construction sites, and the model recreates it through a sturdy Technic joint supported by pneumatics. Building that joint is one of the most technically demanding sections in the entire set of instructions. Even small errors at this stage tend to show up later in how the steering behaves.

Motorised functions

Built-in motors control the steering, the tipping of the load bed and the drive to all six wheels, so the model doesn't just look like the real machine, it behaves like one too.
