Description

An unmistakable silhouette

Slave I does not look like a typical starship. It flies upright and lands flat, with a rounded body that is instantly recognisable to anyone who has seen The Empire Strikes Back. In that film Boba Fett uses it to carry Han Solo, frozen in carbonite, away from Cloud City. Attack of the Clones shows the ship earlier, in the hands of Jango Fett. Translating that shape into bricks is the main appeal of any Slave I set, and this one is no exception.

Parts that reflect the shape

The 537 pieces include 156 different designs, a high number for a set of this size. Curves and angled surfaces require a wider range of elements than a boxy vehicle would, and that shows in the inventory. The build therefore offers plenty of variety, with fewer repetitive stages and more small problems to solve. An earlier colour scheme

Light and dark bluish grey and black dominate, with tan rounding out the main colours. Dark green, which many fans associate with Boba Fett's ship, does not appear among the leading colours here.
