Description

A pleasure craft on Tatooine

The sail barge is Jabba's floating palace, a luxury vessel that glides across the dunes of Tatooine. In Return of the Jedi he uses it to take his prisoners to the Sarlacc pit for execution, only for Luke, Leia and their friends to turn the tables in one of the saga's best-known action sequences. That makes the barge more than a vehicle: it is a stage where a whole scene plays out, with villains and heroes sharing the same deck.

A wooden look

Reddish brown is the dominant colour, giving the barge the timber appearance that sets it apart from the metal greys of most Star Wars vehicles. Black, dark bluish grey and light bluish grey handle railings, fittings and mechanical details. For anyone building their own models, a large supply of reddish brown is valuable: it is the go-to colour for houses, ships, bridges and trees.
