Description

A troop carrier, not a fighter

Most small Star Wars ships are fighters built for dogfights. The U-Wing is something else: a gunship and transport that ferries Rebel teams into danger. In Rogue One it carries Jyn Erso and Cassian Andor on their missions and drops troops onto the beaches of Scarif during the final battle. That role gives the ship a slightly different character on a shelf of X-Wings and Y-Wings, and its broad body with swept wings is distinctive enough to read clearly even at this scale.
