Description

An early take on a classic

Released in 2001, this AT-ST comes from the first few years of Star Wars building sets. That shows in the colours. The catalogue lists light grey and dark grey, the older shades that were later replaced by the bluish greys in use today. For collectors this matters: modern replacement parts will not match exactly. Brown and tan round out the main colours. When you complete a used copy, keep an eye on the colour names in the parts list on this page so the model stays consistent. Parts in the older shades are still easy enough to find second-hand if you look for the right colour name.

From Hoth to Endor

The AT-ST is the smaller partner to the towering AT-AT. It supports the assault on Hoth in The Empire Strikes Back and patrols the forests of Endor in Return of the Jedi, where Chewbacca famously commandeers one and turns it against the Empire. Its boxy head on two long legs makes it one of the most recognisable vehicles in the saga. That is why it keeps returning in new versions, and why an early interpretation like this one is interesting to compare with later designs.
