Swarm tactics

The Trade Federation relies on droids instead of living pilots, and the vulture droid is its standard space fighter. Large swarms attack the Naboo fighters in The Phantom Menace, and they return in Revenge of the Sith during the battle above Coruscant. The animated series The Clone Wars shows them in many more engagements. In the films, the wings can fold down into legs so the fighter walks on the ground, a detail that makes it stand out among Star Wars ships.

A Microfighter without a cockpit

Most Microfighters are built around a minifigure sitting in the cockpit. The vulture droid breaks that pattern, because the real craft has no pilot at all.
