Description

Rolling artillery

Where most droid war machines walk, crawl or hover, the hailfire droid rolls. Its central hull, fitted with missile launchers, sits between two huge wheels, giving it a silhouette unlike anything else in the saga. It appears during the Battle of Geonosis in Attack of the Clones and again in The Clone Wars. It never takes centre stage on screen, which makes a dedicated set all the more welcome for fans of the Separatist side.

The build at a glance

The 163 pieces come from 54 unique parts, so the build is quick and approachable for younger children. Most of the visual impact comes from the wheels, which give the model a surprising sense of scale for its piece count. Three minifigures are included, enough to set up a small skirmish around the droid. The finished model is sturdy and happy to be rolled across a table or floor, which is exactly how most children will want to use it.

Colour and reuse

Dark and light bluish grey dominate, with reddish brown and black filling out the list.
