Description

A trooper for a new era

In The Force Awakens, the First Order has taken the Empire's place, and its stormtroopers wear a sleeker version of the classic armour, with a smoother helmet and cleaner lines. They are the rank and file of the sequel trilogy, but they also matter to the story: Finn begins the film as one of them before deserting. A buildable figure of a First Order trooper therefore represents both the faceless army and the origins of one of the new heroes.

The build in brief

You assemble the figure in sections, legs first, then arms, torso and head, and join them using ball joints. Among the 81 pieces are 47 unique elements, well over half, thanks to the variety of connectors, joints and armour-style panels. Aside from the mirrored limbs, few steps repeat, so the build stays interesting throughout. The finished figure can turn its head, bend its arms and legs and hold a range of poses.

White first, then the darks

White leads the colour list, as you would expect for a stormtrooper, followed by black, dark bluish grey and light bluish grey. The contrast between bright armour and dark joints gives the figure a clean, graphic appearance. For parts collectors, white and black are some of the most useful colours to have, and the many joint pieces open up possibilities for robots, mechs and other poseable creations of your own.

One trooper looks good; several side by side start to resemble a patrol, and a Captain Phasma figure from the same range can take command.
