Description

An old shape, updated

The T-70 X-wing keeps the familiar four-wing layout but looks leaner than the original, with split engines at the tips of its wings. In The Force Awakens, a squadron of these fighters arrives over Takodana to drive off the First Order and later leads the attack on Starkiller Base. Squeezed into Microfighter proportions, the fighter becomes short and chunky, yet the crossed wings make it instantly readable as an X-wing from any angle.

Few unique parts

Just 30 of the 87 pieces are unique elements, so the build relies heavily on repeated parts. The four identical wings explain much of that, and they make the model a gentle introduction for younger builders, who can follow the same steps several times. Once the minifigure is in the cockpit, the fighter is ready to fly. The robust construction is meant for handling, so it survives crash landings on the carpet better than most ships of its size.

Grey with a touch of blue

Light bluish grey and dark bluish grey dominate the parts list, with blue and black adding contrast. Blue stands out among Star Wars fighters, many of which rely on red or orange markings, so this model looks distinct next to the X-wings of the original films.
