Description

An Imperial experiment

Long before Darth Vader's familiar TIE Advanced appears over the Death Star, the animated series Rebels shows an earlier design in action. The Grand Inquisitor uses this prototype to hunt the crew of the Ghost, and its sharply bent wings mark it out from the standard TIE fighter. For collectors of Rebels vehicles it fills an important gap, since it gives the Empire a distinctive craft of its own rather than one more copy of the usual Imperial fighter.

A short, tidy build

The 93 pieces include 34 unique elements, so a fair number of shapes are used more than once. With a symmetrical fighter that is only natural, since both wings follow the same pattern. The result is a build that moves quickly and suits younger builders as well as adults who want something small between larger projects. Light bluish grey, black and dark bluish grey dominate the parts, with trans-red elements as the only bright accent.

Pilot included

With one minifigure in the box, the fighter is ready for action as soon as the last piece is in place. It makes a natural opponent for any Rebel ships you already own, whether you stage a quick dogfight across the table or set up a small hangar scene. On a shelf the compact size is an advantage too: the model sits comfortably next to other Rebels-era craft without dominating the display or crowding out larger ships.
