Description

The Rebellion's workhorse

Slower than an X-wing but tougher and heavily armed, the Y-wing has been part of the Rebel fleet since A New Hope, where it joins the attack on the first Death Star. It returns over Scarif in Rogue One and again at the Battle of Endor in Return of the Jedi. The long frame with a forward cockpit and twin engine nacelles is unmistakable, and even in squashed Microfighter form those key features remain easy to recognise.

Quick to build, easy to play

Of the 90 pieces, 40 are unique elements, so the build offers a fair amount of variety while staying short. Some steps repeat for the twin engines, but most of the model comes together in a steady sequence of new shapes. With the minifigure in the cockpit, the bomber is ready for play immediately. Microfighters are sturdy and sit comfortably in a child's hand, which makes them well suited to energetic space battles on the floor.

A splash of yellow

Light bluish grey and white lead the parts list, with dark bluish grey and yellow in support. Yellow is a relatively uncommon colour in Star Wars sets, and it gives the Y-wing a different look from Rebel craft that stick to white, grey and red. Placed next to other Rebel Microfighters, it adds colour to a small squadron, and it can face off against a TIE from the same range whenever a quick dogfight is needed.
