Description

A third side in the war

The Clone Wars is not just Republic against Separatists. Pirate gangs, most famously the Weequay crew led by the scheming Hondo Ohnaka, take advantage of the chaos, kidnapping for ransom and happily crossing both Jedi and Sith. Their vehicles are cobbled together, tough and battered, as if they have survived one scrap too many. This tank belongs in that corner of the galaxy and adds a rougher, more lawless flavour to a collection that is usually full of tidy military hardware.

Straightforward and sturdy

There are 101 different part designs in the 372 pieces, a moderate range with many repeated elements. That keeps the build clear and approachable, making it a good choice for younger builders or anyone after a relaxed project. The finished tank is compact and comfortable to hold, which suits play. Three minifigures give it a crew, ready to stage raids and chases or to face off against clone troopers from your other sets.

Earthy tones

Black, light bluish grey, dark bluish grey and reddish brown are the main colours. The brown suggests wood and leather, fitting the improvised look of a pirate machine, while black and grey give it weight and armour. It is a palette with plenty of uses beyond Star Wars. Steampunk vehicles, ruined buildings, workshops and post-apocalyptic scenes all benefit from these colours, and reddish brown parts in particular are always welcome in a growing collection.
