Description

The other side of the space battle

Star Wars shelves tend to fill up with Star Destroyers, TIE fighters and other Imperial hardware, which makes a large Rebel capital ship all the more welcome. In Return of the Jedi, Home One is where the attack on the second Death Star is briefed and directed, with Admiral Ackbar on the bridge. Mon Calamari ships look nothing like Imperial designs: their hulls are rounded and almost organic. This set brings that contrast into your collection.

A remarkable parts count

The standout figure is 229 unique parts in a set of only 789 pieces. That is a very high ratio, reflecting how much variety it takes to shape a smooth, irregular hull out of bricks. Very few steps repeat, so the build keeps you engaged, although it also means more time spent finding the right element. For builders who collect parts for their own designs, that variety is a real bonus, as many of these shapes are rare in simpler sets.

Pale colours, bridge crew

White, light bluish grey and dark bluish grey cover the hull, while black outlines details and panels. The pale scheme makes Home One stand out next to the darker Imperial ships it faced. Six minifigures let you staff the bridge and stage moments from the Battle of Endor. It works both as a display piece and as part of a larger fleet scene with other Rebel ships from the same film.

Tracking down a copy

Named as a limited edition, Home One now circulates mostly among collectors and on second-hand marketplaces. With so many different parts, completeness is worth checking carefully before you pay or build, because a single missing curved element can be hard to identify later. The inventory on this page lets you tick off every piece and spot what needs replacing, and the build tool shows which other models your existing collection could already cover. Sorting by colour first speeds up the count considerably.
