Description

A hive world's air force

On Geonosis, winged insectoid beings run vast droid foundries for the Separatists and defend their planet with slim, organic-looking starfighters. The ships swarm above the battlefield in Attack of the Clones, when the Clone Wars break out, and return in The Clone Wars animated series. Their curved, elongated shape is a deliberate contrast with the angular hardware of the Republic, and it gives builders an interesting challenge at small scale.

Modern colours

Where an earlier Geonosian fighter from 2003 still used the old greys, this 2011 version is built in dark and light bluish grey with reddish brown, the palette still in use today. That makes its pieces fully compatible with current sets. Dark orange rounds out the list and supplies the rusty desert tone of Geonosis. The inventory also counts 62 unique parts among 163 pieces, a sign of the more varied building techniques of the time.

Figures and play

Three minifigures come with the fighter, which is plenty for a small battle scene or a hangar display.
