Description

Forestry, not farming

Tractors usually bring fields and ploughs to mind, but in forestry they do a different job: hauling and loading logs. A log loader is essentially a crane with a grab that picks up trunks and stacks them. Combining the two gives this set a subject you do not see every day in Technic, which tends to focus on construction machinery and supercars. It will appeal to anyone with an interest in agricultural or forestry vehicles, and makes an interesting contrast to the usual yellow diggers.

Studless construction

By 2010 Technic had fully embraced studless building, so the tractor and loader are assembled mainly from beams, pins, axles and connectors. The 525 pieces come from 112 unique parts, which gives a varied build with the vehicle and the loader forming distinct sections. There are no minifigures.
