Description

Designing tomorrow in the 1990s

Concept cars were a popular subject in the late 1990s, and Future Car is Technic's take on the idea. Because it does not reproduce a production model, it is a free design shaped by the ideas and parts available at the time. That makes it an interesting period piece today: it shows what a futuristic car looked like to designers in 1997, which is quite different from how most people would picture one now. No minifigures are included, so all 418 pieces go into the car.

Blue, white and the old grey

Black is the most common colour, followed by old light grey, blue and white. Blue and white give the model a clean, forward-looking feel, while black and grey form most of the structure. The grey is the original shade that Technic replaced with bluish grey a few years later, so the model looks at home among other late-1990s sets. With modern parts mixed in, the difference in grey is noticeable.
