Built for speed

The A-wing trades armour for sheer speed. Its narrow wedge body and twin engines make it ideal for intercepting enemy fighters and striking fast. During the Battle of Endor in Return of the Jedi, A-wings dart among TIE fighters and Star Destroyers, and one of them famously crashes into the bridge of the Super Star Destroyer Executor, sending the massive ship down into the Death Star. It is a small craft with a big moment in the films.
