Slow, heavy and brave

The Resistance bombers are the opposite of nimble X-wings. They are big, sluggish craft that release their payload from a tall bomb magazine beneath the hull, and in the opening battle of The Last Jedi they pay a heavy price for it. One by one they fall to TIE fighters until only a single ship remains. Paige Tico's final act releases the bombs that destroy the dreadnought. The sequence gives the ship a weight that goes beyond its screen time, and it makes a memorable subject for a small model.
