The sequel trilogy's breakout droid

BB-8 rolled into The Force Awakens carrying a map to Luke Skywalker, and quickly became one of the most loved new characters of the sequel era. Loyal to Poe Dameron, the droid brings Rey and Finn together on Jakku and keeps turning up at key moments through the rest of the trilogy. Its design, a rolling sphere with a domed head that seems to float on top, is simple enough to recognise at a glance and a natural subject for a brick model.

Nine elements, many times over
