Why the Falcon works small

The Falcon has one of the most recognisable outlines in film: a flat disc, two forward mandibles and a cockpit set off to one side. Because that shape is so distinctive, it survives shrinking remarkably well. Even at 44 pieces, a micro Falcon is instantly identifiable, which is not true of every Star Wars vessel. The ship then escapes the Death Star, dodges asteroids in The Empire Strikes Back and helps destroy the second Death Star in Return of the Jedi. Decades later, Rey and Finn find it on Jakku in The Force Awakens.
