Older than its parent theme

RC sits under Racers, yet its first set predates Racers itself. Radio Control Racer (5600-1) appeared in 1998, and the same model came out again as 5599-1 in 2001, the year Racers launched. Both versions have 298 pieces. What unites the sub-theme is the drive system: each set combines a motor and a remote control with a buildable body, so the finished car can be steered rather than pushed. That made these sets a clear step up from the push-along cars found elsewhere in the theme.

Buggies, racers and twin packs

Supersonic RC (8366-1) from 2003 is the largest set here, with 429 pieces. RC Race Buggy (8475-1, 2002) follows with 284 pieces and Hot Flame RC Car (8376-1, 2003) with 257. Twin X-treme RC (8184-1) from 2009, one of the last sets in the line, has 239 pieces and, as the name hints, focuses on a pair of vehicles. Smaller entries include RC-Nitro Flash (4589-1, 139 pieces) from 2002 and Outdoor Challenger (8675-1, 101 pieces) from 2006.
