What the Exploriens were looking for

Released as part of the Space theme, Exploriens focused on discovery rather than conflict. Set names such as Planetary Decoder (6856-1), Alien Fossilizer (6854-1) and Nebula Outpost (6899-1) set the tone. A signature feature of the line was a group of printed tiles carrying hidden images that only became visible through a coloured transparent viewer, which turned the hunt for alien fossils into part of the play. Compared with the rival factions found in other Space lines, it is one of the gentler sub-themes.

From Hovertron to Starship

The range covers a wide spread of sizes. At the small end sits Hovertron (6815-1) with 29 pieces; at the top is Explorien Starship (6982-1) with 662 pieces, more than twice the size of the next set, Android Base (6958-1, 275 pieces).
