About Speed Slammers
Five fast vehicles
The first wave in 2000 brought the Bike Burner (8236-1) with 60 pieces, Slammer Racer / Formula Force (8237-1) with 110 and Slammer Dragsters / Dueling Dragsters (8238-1) with 197. In 2001 two more followed: the Slammer Stunt Bike (8240-1) with 153 pieces and Slammer Turbo (8242-1), the largest set in the range at 249 pieces. The double names reflect different titles used in different markets. Compared with the big Technic flagships, these are modest builds that were clearly aimed at play and racing rather than display.
Why it is worth a look
A range of five sets is easy to complete, which appeals to collectors who like finished series. The models also make good small projects for rebuilding from loose Technic parts.
