About Black Falcons
A classic Castle faction
In the mid-1980s the Castle world moved beyond generic knights and introduced factions with their own heraldry. The Black Falcons, named after the black bird on their shields, were among the first. Their sets cover the essentials of a medieval conflict: a stone fortress, a siege engine, a catapult and a handful of guards. Most came out between 1984 and 1987, while a re-release in 2002 brought the fortress back for a new generation of builders. With only seven sets, the faction is one of the more achievable Castle collections to complete, and the grey walls combine easily with other factions of the period.
From fortress to treasure chest
Black Falcon's Fortress (6074-1) from 1986 is the largest set at 430 pieces, matched exactly by its 2002 re-issue (10039-1). Knight's Castle (6073-1) from 1984 has 416 pieces. Battering Ram (6062-1) brings 240, Catapult (6030-1) 83, Castle Guard (6035-1) 52 and Black Knight's Treasure (6011-1) 27.
