About Black Knights
The faction in brief
Black Knights is a sub-theme of Castle, the umbrella for all knight and fortress sets. Its range ran from 1988 to 1998 and mixed large castles with boats, a dragon and several small add-on packs. That variety makes it a satisfying faction to collect: two big centrepieces, a few mid-sized builds and a handful of quick extras that expand a scene without taking over the shelf. Many of the smaller packs add just a few minifigures and a piece of scenery, which suits builders who want more soldiers on the walls.

Black Monarch's Castle (6085-1) from 1988 is the largest at 688 pieces. Black Knight's Castle (6086-1) followed in 1992 with 590, and Knight's Stronghold (6059-1) from 1990 has 228. On the water, Sea Serpent (6057-1) has 128 pieces and Black Knights Boat (1547-1) 58. Battle Dragon (6018-1) has 54, Black Knights Guardshack (1888-1) 49 and Dual Defender (1491-1) 48.
