About Classic Castle

Before the factions

Castle was one of the launch themes when minifigures arrived in 1978. At that stage there were no rival factions with their own banners, just knights, a castle and a few accessories. This sub-theme of Castle gathers those early releases. The centrepiece is the large Castle set, remembered by many collectors as the ‘yellow castle’ because of its yellow walls, a colour choice that later castles swapped for grey.

Renumbered releases

Several sets appear twice under different numbers. Castle was 375-2 in 1978 and 6075-2 in 1981, both with 775 pieces. Knight's Tournament exists as 383-2 from 1979 with 210 pieces and 6083-1 from 1981 with 211, and Knight's Procession as 677-1 (1979) and 6077-1 (1981), 48 pieces each.
