Knights Kingdom II ran from 2004 to 2006 and, with 76 sets, is one of the largest Castle sub-themes. Its story sets the knights of Morcia against the villain Vladek.

About Knights Kingdom II

More than castles

The range was built to support an ongoing story, and it did so across several product types. Alongside minifigure play sets, it included large buildable figures of the heroes and villains, which is a big reason the set count climbed so high in three years. The kingdom of Morcia, its king and his knights form one side; Vladek and his forces form the other. Later waves introduced new places such as the Mistlands. Despite the name, there is no story link to the Knights Kingdom range of 2000.

The largest builds

Vladek's Dark Fortress (8877-1) from 2005 tops the list with 989 pieces. Royal King's Castle (10176-1) followed in 2006 with 877, and Castle of Morcia (8781-1) from 2004 has 661. Citadel of Orlan (8780-1), also from 2004, adds 483. Having four substantial fortresses in one range is unusual, and they make a strong display when lined up together.

Towers, passes and prisons

Mistlands Tower (8823-1, 438 pieces) and Battle at the Pass (8813-1, 380 pieces) belong to the final year, 2006. The Grand Tournament (8779-1) from 2004 has 318 pieces, and Scorpion Prison Cave (8876-1) from 2005 has 279. These mid-sized sets move the action away from the main castles and are often easier to find complete.
