Launched with the Crystal Skull

The range first appeared in 2008, the year Kingdom of the Crystal Skull reached cinemas. The launch wave mixed scenes from the new film with moments from Raiders of the Lost Ark and The Last Crusade. Temple of the Crystal Skull (7627-1, 930 pieces) and Peril in Peru (7628-1, 626 pieces) represent the fourth film, while Temple Escape (7623-1, 560 pieces) recreates the rolling boulder from the opening of Raiders. Jungle Cutter (7626-1, 516 pieces) is a vehicle set from the Amazon chase.

The 2009 follow-up

A second year brought the remaining classic film into the range. Temple of Doom (7199-1) has 652 pieces and recreates the mine cart setting of the second film. Venice Canal Chase (7197-1, 420 pieces) is based on the boat chase in The Last Crusade. These sets are built for play, with hidden compartments, collapsing sections and plenty of minifigures.

A return in 2023

After a long gap, new sets arrived in 2023, the year of the fifth film, although they focus on the original trilogy. Temple of the Golden Idol (77015-1) is the largest set in the theme with 1,545 pieces and is designed as a detailed display model of the famous opening sequence. Escape from the Lost Tomb (77013-1, 600 pieces) returns to the Well of Souls from Raiders. The newer sets put more emphasis on detailed architecture than the 2008 range.
