The film, adapted from the video game series, follows Dastan and a dagger that can turn back time. The sets translate that into sand-coloured palace walls, market stalls, traps and chases. Battle of Alamut (7573-1) is the centrepiece with 821 pieces, a fortified city gate with towers and a range of soldiers. Quest Against Time (7572-1, 506 pieces) and The Fight for the Dagger (7571-1, 258 pieces) are mid-sized, and The Ostrich Race (7570-1, 169 pieces) picks up one of the film’s lighter scenes.

The smaller sets

Desert Attack (7569-1, 57 pieces) and Dagger Trap (20017-1, 52 pieces) are small, quick builds with a couple of minifigures. Together with the larger sets they make a compact collection that is easy to complete. Arches, columns and tan bricks from this theme also work well in other desert or fantasy builds, and the parts lists show exactly what each set contains. Because the theme ran for a single year, all six sets share the same colour palette and style, so they display well side by side.
