About Mission Deep Sea
The underwater line-up
Ogel Underwater Base and AT Sub (4795-1) is the largest set at 480 pieces and puts both factions in one box. Alpha Team Command Sub (4794-1) follows with 188 pieces and Alpha Team Aquatic Mech (4789-1) with 166. Ogel Sub Shark (4793-1) has 115 pieces and Alpha Team Navigator and ROV (4792-1) has 93. All eight of the largest sets were released in 2002.
Creatures of the deep
A distinctive part of the range is Ogel's mutant sea life, each sold as a small set: Ogel Mutant Ray (4788-1) with 68 pieces, Ogel Mutant Squid (4796-1) with 62 and Ogel Mutant Killer Whale (4797-1) with 57. These inexpensive builds were an easy way to add opponents to the bigger submarines, and they still make good fillers for an underwater display. With 17 sets, Mission Deep Sea is larger than the seven-set main Alpha Team range, so it is the natural place to start if you want to build up this part of the saga.
