By 1998 Aquazone had room for fresh faces, and the Hydronauts were one of them. Six of their seven sets came out in 1998, with one more small model in 1999.

About Hydronauts
Crystal science, round two
The Hydronauts arrived together with the Stingrays, their opponents in this later chapter of Aquazone. Crystals remain at the centre of the story, as names like Crystal Detector and Hydro Crystallization Station show. If you already know the Aquanauts from 1995, the Hydronauts play a similar role as the explorers of the sea floor.
From station to solo sub
The biggest build is Hydro Crystallization Station (6199-1) with 485 pieces. Hydro Search Sub (6180-1) comes next with 298. Crystal Detector is listed twice, as 6150-1 with 106 pieces and 6159-1 with 105. The small end is made up of Solo Sub (6110-1) with 25 pieces and Aqua Dart (6100-1) and Super Sub (1095-1) with 24 each. Super Sub is the only set from 1999.
