About Train
Keeping trains on the track
Wheels wear, rubber rims go brittle and signals get lost. These packs were sold to fix exactly that, so the list reads like a workshop inventory rather than a toy catalogue. You will not find locomotives or stations here; those belong to the main train themes. This is the supporting cast, grouped under the Service Packs parent theme alongside a separate Technic branch. Rubber rims and wheels in particular wear out with use, which is why they appear again and again in this list.
Wheels and rims
The earliest entries date from 1977: Train Wheels (1110-1) and Rubber Rims for Locomotive Wheels (1111-1). Replacement Rubber Wheel Treads for Trains (1138-1) followed in 1981. In 1987 came Locomotive Wheels (5064-1) and Rubber Wheel Rims, Grey (5067-1).
Signals and points
Layout accessories make up the rest of the largest packs. Semaphores with Feet (1216-1) appeared in 1982, Remote Control for Electric Points (1239-2) in 1985 and Signal Masts and Feet (5200-1) in 1987. Every one of these packs has 8 pieces, which shows how small and focused the sets in this sub-theme are. Low piece counts say little about usefulness here: a set of wheels or a points controller can matter more to a working layout than a large model.
