About Learning
A theme defined by purpose
Unlike most themes, Learning is not tied to a story or a type of model. What links its sets is their purpose: each one was designed to support a lesson. That explains the unusual mix of subjects, which ranges from general problem-solving to typesetting and cell biology.
From 901 pieces down to 74
The two Denken mit Lego (Thinking with Lego) kits from 1972 open the range: 1513-1 has 901 pieces and is the largest set in the theme, while 1512-1 has 250. In 1990 came Typesetter's Shop (Composing Set), listed in an English version (9550-1, 489 pieces) and a French version (9550-3, 488 pieces), together with a 121-piece extension assortment (49901-1). The 2000s brought biology: the DNA Student Set (9744-1, 525 pieces) and Chromosomes - Student Set (9743-1, 136 pieces) from 2003, followed by the Photosynthesis Student Set (9742-1, 74 pieces) in 2008.
