A timeline of six sets
The range opened in 1998 with the Soft Starter Set (9020-1), 84 pieces. A year later came the Medium Set of Soft Bricks (9021-1) with 52 pieces and Extra Soft Bricks (9022-1) with 32, then the Soft Brick Activity Set (9023-1) with 14 pieces in 2000. The Soft Imagination Set (9024-1) followed in 2004 with 48 pieces. In 2013 a Soft Starter Set appeared again, now numbered 45003-1 and with the same 84 pieces as the 1998 edition. With just six entries, the whole theme fits on a single timeline.
Where soft bricks fit
These sets belong to Educational and Dacta and were aimed at early-years settings, where large, light and soft elements turn building into a whole-body activity. Children can stack walls taller than themselves or build simple enclosures on the floor. Piece counts are small because each brick is big, so a set of a few dozen elements still covers a lot of ground.
