What goes into a Classic box

A typical Classic set combines basic bricks in a wide spread of colours with useful extras such as wheels, windows and printed eye pieces. The booklet suggests a handful of models, but the contents are meant to be rebuilt again and again. This makes the theme a natural starting point for families and a practical parts supply for anyone who builds their own designs.

From XXXL Box to Creative Fantasy Universe

The largest boxes have grown over the years. In 2015 the XXXL Box (10697-1) offered 1,500 pieces, and the XL Creative Brick Box (10654-1) followed in 2016 with 1,600. Bricks Bricks Bricks (10717-1, 2018) and Bricks and Animals (11011-1, 2020) also hold 1,500 pieces each, while Bricks Bricks Plates (11717-1, 2020) reaches 1,504. Build Together (11020-1) and Space Mission (11022-1), both from 2022, have 1,601 and 1,700 pieces. The current record is Creative Fantasy Universe (11033-1) from 2023 with 1,800 pieces.

A successor that stayed

Reading the set names

The names tell part of the story. Early boxes were simply labelled by size, such as XXXL Box or XL Creative Brick Box, and later ones like Bricks Bricks Bricks or Bricks Bricks Plates stress the raw material. More recent sets hint at a theme instead – Bricks and Animals, Space Mission, Creative Fantasy Universe – while Build Together suggests a box meant for several builders at once. In every case the pieces stay free to combine.
