About Chinese Traditional Festivals
The New Year at the centre
Lunar New Year is the theme's recurring subject. Chinese New Year Temple Fair (80105-1) from 2020 recreates a fairground with 1,664 pieces, Lunar New Year Ice Festival (80109-1) from 2021 has 1,519 pieces, and Lunar New Year Parade (80111-1) from 2022 sends a procession down the street with 1,655. The biggest of all is Family Reunion Celebration (80113-1) from 2024, at 1,823 pieces. Each is a densely packed scene with plenty of minifigures and small details to discover.
Lanterns and moonlight
Other festivals appear too. Spring Lantern Festival (80107-1) from 2021 is the second-largest set with 1,797 pieces and is devoted to the lantern celebrations that close the New Year period. Ancient Moon-Gazing Inn (80121-1) from 2026, with 1,530 pieces, looks to a different moment in the calendar, when people gather to admire the full moon. Both sit comfortably next to the New Year scenes on a shelf, since they share the same scale and style.
Beyond street scenes
Recent years have added other formats. Trotting Lantern (80116-1) from 2024 is a buildable lantern of 1,295 pieces, and Galloping Horse Canvas (80119-1) from 2025 is a 1,650-piece picture intended for the wall. These give the theme a decorative side for builders who prefer a single display piece to a full diorama. The theme also includes smaller sets beyond the largest entries named here.
