Description

The X-wing's ancestor

Put a Z-95 Headhunter next to an X-wing and the family likeness is hard to miss. The Headhunter has a similar cockpit and nose, and fans have long regarded it as a forerunner of the Rebel fighter. On screen, it is best known from The Clone Wars animated series, where clone pilots of the Republic fly it on several missions. That makes it an interesting link between the prequel era and the original trilogy for anyone collecting starfighters, and a reminder that good designs rarely appear out of nowhere.
