Description

Workhorse of the Rebellion

The X-wing gets most of the attention, but the Y-wing does much of the heavy lifting. Slower and less agile, it makes up for that with firepower and toughness. Y-wings join the assault on the first Death Star in A New Hope and return for the Battle of Endor in Return of the Jedi. Their battered, partly exposed hulls suggest ships that have been patched up many times, which fits the image of a Rebellion running on limited resources.

Two nacelles, one cockpit

The build divides naturally into sections. The two long engine nacelles share similar steps, while the cockpit and central fuselage bring in new shapes and details.
