Double trouble

Getting two vehicles in one set gives you more ways to play and display. The hailfire droid, with its pair of huge hoop-like wheels, and the dwarf spider droid, a squat walker on four legs, look nothing alike, yet both belong to the same army. Together with five minifigures, they form a ready-made enemy force for any clone trooper sets you already own. It is an easy way to add weight to the Separatist side of a battle scene without buying several separate boxes.

On screen

Both droids appear at the Battle of Geonosis in Attack of the Clones, where the clone army fights the Separatist droids for the first time. The hailfire droid rolls across the rocky ground in a rusty reddish tone, while spider droids pick their way over the terrain. Similar machines turn up throughout the wider Clone Wars period, so the set fits collections focused on the films as well as on the animated series.

Reddish brown and not much else

The main colour is reddish brown, used heavily for the hailfire droid. Light and dark bluish grey fill out the structure, with trans-red for sensors.
